Hackathon
The hackathon is an experience where you try to code something within the challenge perimeters in only a few days. In our case we had 2 days to code an application that uses cool css features and uses all the data provided in a json file.
The data
The data we got was quite a lot to choose from. We didnt have to use all of the data but we atleast had to use some.
Our App
We decided to build a small application that has a card flip and shows all the years that cssday was given. All participants and visitors are displayed in a little card flip animation.
Reflection
We started with 2 people so we were already 2 people down from the normal 4 people groups, and looking back i think we did an amazing job for this small timeframe. I liked the pressure that was given because of the 2 days and with only 2 people. The hackton itself was hosted pretty nicely, for example when i needed help connecting to the json data the teacher helped me with it quite fast. I think i could learn from working under pressure a lot more.
For my selfimprovement
The things i could use in my further development is quite small since it was only 2 days but there are some things that i need to keep in mind. Using js when you could be using css is never a good idea. It creates more problems than it is good. Also working under pressure is when i work the best. I found that out quite quickly from when i had to do everything in 2 days essentially.
