My First Class

The first class we had was Web apps from scratch. This class took 1 week and had us make 2 different web apps:

1. Personal web app
2. Team web app

Personal web application

For this part of the class we had to build ourselves a modular single page webapp.

Our personal app is an app that has you create and destroy small animal emojis. These emoji’s move around the pen themselves. I had to do a lot of javascript to get this to work properly. another requirement of this project was that we took the data we displayed in our site from a json.

The class itself was nice since the teachers left the concept of your app to yourself so you can do basically whatever you want as long as you include you personal json data.

Team web application

For the second part of the class we had to build an app with our team that included all of our data from our jsons. So we had to fetch from our personal github pages. This posed quite a challenge in the short time we had. But we managed to get it fixed in a reasonable time. and the idea we had for our team website was also quite nice.

My opinion

My opinion on the WAFS project is quite good. I liked that there were only a few limitations we got and i especially liked the fact that we had to do it in a group so you can get to know your new classmates a little bit. Although this class was a bit short with it being a week. And in the last few days you are expected to work well with people you’ve only known for about a week.

The help and information we got from the teachers was also nice to have and especially relevant.
